Who Says Work Can't be Fun?

For the last two years I've been working the BCS for The Matthews Group... and every now and then we have a little fun.

When it was the original group of people that were here: Kim, Sharon, Tim, Micah and Ed we had a game day and played Bocce Ball, rode the scooter and raced the golf cart!

As you can see... I was the best golf cart driver imaginable.

BUT last week I got the opportunity to meet a Texas Country Icon because we did a shoot with the ever-popular Robert Earle Keen. When my boss first asked me about it, I never actually thought we would get the job and get to meet REK, but as time passed, I realized it was going to be possible.

We shot Robert Earle in a commercial for the local Texas Country Radio station here, called 98.3 - KORA. It was great and REK and the radio staff were a lot of fun. We shot it on the front porch of The Chicken, and I can't wait to see the final cut!

Yes, even REK wears makeup when it's time to be on camera... :)

However, over the last two years I've had the opportunity to work with some amazing people... We use one another to vent, to celebrate and even share secrets, and it is tough when someone moves on to a better opportunity. It never really gets easier. This Friday, my coworker Stefanie, is moving on to another opportunity. It is unfortunate when people leave, but there is always a party that I get to plan - So now it's off to the party planning committee for me...

starting a... blog?

So my job requires me a read a lot of blogs... and social media sites... and tons of things that I didn't think I could really keep up with. Lately I've noticed an increase in friends starting blogs and although I'm not sure I can keep up with it, I might be able to ramble for a post or two each week.

My life isn't all that interesting, but between my crazy friends, jobs and life - I might be able to entertain a couple people now and then.

So this will be my experiment... nothing fancy or all that exciting, but something to do!

Tonight marks the second month of the bootcamp work out I have been doing, so I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things but not so much not being able to sit down tomorrow!

Happy Monday y'all :) hopefully I'll write again soon...
